I’ll never forget catching my first fish—a little bluegill at 4 or 5 years old. It stayed in our freezer for years, a proud reminder of where my love for fishing began. Growing up, I spent countless weekends fishing at my grandparents’ creek and on Florida’s Banana River. By age 10, I was hooked.
During the COVID lockdown, I picked up fishing again, starting with a cheap rod and reel. Before long, I bought my first kayak and entered tournaments. In just two years, I’ve hit some amazing milestones. I won my first tournament in February, becoming the first female to win a Florida B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series event. I’ve had several top-10 finishes since, qualified for the Florida Kayak Bass Trail Championship, and finished 4th in the Central Region Angler of the Year standings, securing a spot in the state championship.
Recently, I joined the Pro Staff at The Dugout Bait & Tackle and Bajío Sunglasses and took a shot at making the USA Kayak Fishing Team at Lake Murray, finishing 16th out of 40 of the country’s best. I’m also featured as the Spotlight Angler in USA Kayak Fishing magazine and "On the Hook" as part of the BassmastHER initiative for Bassmaster.
